Top Drawer: Ethical Retail Part 2

Ethical Retail

Top Drawer 2019 saw many of the world’s most innovative retailers and brands showcase their products, with a clear focus being placed on sustainability, innovation and ethical production.

The impact of brands’ ethics is more important than ever before, with more than six in ten younger consumers closely considering a company’s ethical values and authenticity before buying their products. More than half of customers also believe that their actions and purchasing decisions can influence brands to improve their stance on sustainability or issues of public concern.

Modern Retail had the pleasure of meeting these three inspirational brands, each of which is leading the way in the world of ethical retail.

GoodToBee

GoodToBee is a company spreading the message that it’s ‘GoodToBee Plastic Free’. Their Organic Cotton Beeswax Wraps and Bags are eco-friendly, reusable food keepers. The brand’s mission is to be as sustainable and ethical as possible. They also have a low impact on the environment by sourcing beeswax from sustainable local hives and using organic jojoba oil.

Rice

Rice sell fun, funky and functional products, while creating a brighter future both at home and in developing countries through their ethical business approach. All products are produced with respect for workers, focusing on human rights and working conditions, also taking an active part in social projects around the world.

Turtle Bags

Turtle Bags are on a mission to remind customers that plastic never goes away. Working with fair trade partners who share their environmental values, Turtle Bags supply environmentally friendly bags, ranging from Produce Bags to Ecoffee Cups and Tote Bags.
